Contacting us

The best time to reach us (George) about booking is Tuesdays from 12–5, Wednesdays 5–8, or Thursdays 5–8. Tuesdays are definitely the better day to call. 607–272–1888. Email George (phone is better!) at theninesithacany+george@gmail.com. Shane (theninesithacany+shane@gmail.com) handles the website, so send any info for the web site (a description, cover charge amount, etc.) to him.

Sound system

The sound system costs $110. This goes to the owner of the system (not us) and the sound guy.

Loading and sound check

Earlier load in is better because the restaurant gets busy during dinner. Equipment can be stored in the pool room. Check with the bar to make sure they don–t need the stage space if you plan to set up early. Sound check is generally around 9:30.

Start and end times

Music starts at 10:00. Music ends at 1:15 or when the bartender says so.

Payment

The typical cover charge is $5. Let the doorman know if you have a guest list. The door money goes to the headlining band. Payment for the opening band needs to be arranged with the headlining band. Once again, music starts at 10pm. If there are two bands, the opener starts at 10pm and the headliner starts at 11pm. Starting late cuts into the opening act’s time, not the headlining band’s.

Band discounts

All food is half price. Soda and juice are free. Check with the bar about beer. You must have valid ID to drink. If you need a table for the duration of the evening, please let us know so we can set up something in the poolroom and not occupy one waitress’ table all night, or feel free to order your food from the bar. Remember to tip your waitstaff and bartenders. This is their livelihood, just as playing music is yours. Thanks in advance.

Promoting

Please note that the money you make is directly related to the effort you put into promoting yourselves. We do in–house promoting and contact the papers, but the band is responsible for the draw at the door.

Things you should never do

We offer beer specials for band members of legal age, but keep in mind that no one wants to pay to see a wasted band. The bartenders have the right to cut you off if they feel the situation is getting out of control. Beer specials are for band members only. Not friends, roommates, lovers, etc. We would love to comp everyone, but it's just not possible.
